2007 is panning out to be the year to upgrade dusty old camcorders for HD affairs. Sony's launched a slew of models and JVC's new Everio has wiped the floor at CES with full-res 1080i. Still, none have been able to beat Sanyo's tiny 10x zooming HD1 launched last year - no one except Sanyo itself, that is.Suitably named the HD2, the new Xacti takes the same 720p spewing Star Trek design but adds improved optics, better low light performance and an easier way to get the MP4 footage on to a giant HD telly where it belongs, thanks to a nifty HDMI docking station. Photo-taking ability has been beefed up from 5.1MP to 7.4MP, with the same luxury of that monster 10x zoom.So that'll be just about all our niggles from the original sorted, then. It's out in the US in March but we're promised a UK launch soon after. See you in the queue.
