It was once stuck in the grey world of memory keys, but Sandisk’s music train is well and truly rolling – its fantastic little Sansa player has just been given an 8GB update.

The e280 now heads a fine family of 2GB, 4GB and 6GB players, and will be launching in the UK in late September.

That 8GB will be enough for 2,000 of your finest songs, and you’ll be able to bump it up even further via the microSD slot. With the potential 10GB of storage slightly overshadowing the 4GB Nano, Apple could sure do with releasing that rumoured 8GB version before Christmas.

The e200 range is handily compatible with subscription services like Napster-to-go, and impressed our reviewer with its aural capabilities. Have a gander at the link below for the full report on our hands-on encounter.
