Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2 release date delayed to end of April

Ice Cream Sandwich delays strike again – but there's not much longer to wait for Sammy's new tabs

If you're thinking of splashing out on a Samsung tablet, stop right there. Yep, put that Tab 10.1 down. The Tab 2 7.0 and 10.1 are right around the corner and by the end of April you can either get an Ice Cream Sandwich tablet for (we'd wager) around the same price or a cheaper, original tab.

Android 4.0 woes have meant a slightly later release than planned, confirmed by Samsung to Computer World – no doubt similar niggles that kept us waiting so long for the Galaxy S II update and still waiting for the Galaxy Note's turn.

But you can look forward to a 1GHz dual-core processor, 16GB and 32GB versions, a 3MP rear camera and a more rounded form factor on both the 7in and 10in model. Plus alongside TouchWiz tweaks, you get a new Video hub for movie content and app recommendations via S Suggest.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2 will be released in the UK before a rollout elsewhere. Read our hands on with the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 here.
