Samsung ST5500 – Wifi-packing, 14MP snapper coming in early 2010

We got our hands on the Wifi toting Samsung ST1000 a few months ago, and it appears Samsung is looking to expand this range with another Wifi-packing

Filed to the Federal Communications Commission (because of its Wifi capabilities) in the US today, the ST5500 boasts some rather attractive specs, including 14.2 megapixels, 7x optical zoom and a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen.

It's also capable of 1280x720 HD video capture at 30fps, and ISO up to 3200 for snapping in low light conditions.

The Wifi capabilities we saw on the ST1000 impressed us, allowing you to email photos and videos directly from the camera, or alternatively post them on to social networking sites like YouTube.

It's unsure if the ST5500 will pack the GPS capabilities of the ST1000, but we do know we should be seeing it on shelves in Q1 2010.

We'll be keeping out ears to the ground for an official announcement on this, but in the meantime check out our hands on video with the ST1000 for a hint at what's to come.
