Samsung inTouch lets you Skype from your telly

Set-top camera adds apps and video calling to dumb TVs

If your HDTV's lacking in the smarts department, Samsung may have the solution to your problem. Its new inTouch set-top camera turns even the dumbest of tellyboxes into a video calling Smart TV.

The 3MP camera serves up 720p video over HDMI, and comes packing Android 2.3 Gingerbread along with a QWERTY remote. USB connectivity lets you upload photos, while apps available on the inTouch include Skype, YouTube and Google News and Weather – plus you can browse the web on your telly if the mood takes you.

The Samsung inTouch will be available in the US from March for US$200 – no word on a UK release yet, but we'll keep you posted.
