Straight in from the school of irritating product names (previous students: LG Viewty and the uBanana uCan) Samsung has jumped straight into the 8megapixel phone pond with its brand new Innov8.

Packing in top compact camera tech such as auto focus, smile, blink and face recognition, geo-tagging with the in-built aGPS and image stabilisation, it'll have your normal snapper quaking in its case.

There's a 2.8in LCD for sneaking a peek at your pics and with either 8GB or 16GB of on-board flash memory you'll have plenty of space to store them. Web warriors need not sweat under the stress of slow-speed browsing either, with Wi-Fi and 7.2Mbps HSDPA giving you loading speeds faster than a greased weasel.

Running Symbian Series 60 you'll have apps aplenty at your fingertips and it even comes pre-loaded with editing software for both your stills and your vids, plus a couple of games: FIFA 08 and Asphalt.

We spoke to Sam Sung who said it'll be launched here next month, so keep your peepers peeled for a hands-on as soon as we get our eager paws on an Innov8.
