Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE announced

The race for 4G download speeds just got real – and we're excited

You should know the impressive spec sheets of the Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 8.9 by now, but whilst you've been lazing around over the bank holiday, Samsung has been gearing up to announce LTE models of the skinny smartphone and tablet models.

That means you're looking at 4G connectivity speeds, up to 100Mbps for downloads and 50Mbps for uploads, which compared to average UK 3G speeds of 1-3Mbps seems out of this world. Samsung reckons LTE will let you download a four minute MP3 in 0.3 seconds and a film in under two minutes so we're planning to be first in line to try it out. Look out for our hands on verdict of the LTE models at IFA 2011, kicking off this week.
