Samsung Galaxy Note 2 benchmarks leak

Evidence points to an S3-bashing second edition of the king of supersized smartphones

You’re right – the Galaxy S3’s 4.8in screen just isn’t big enough. That’s why you’ve been guiltily eyeing up the Samsung Galaxy Note. Trouble is, the Note launched last year and it’s starting to look a bit long in the tooth. That’s why we recommend you don’t reach for the stylus yet.

Instead, hold out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (aka GT-N7100), expected to be announced in August. We’ve already heard that it could come with a 5.5in screen, but new evidence in the form of leaked benchmarks suggests it’ll be riding the same superfast quad-core processing guts found in the S3. Not only that, thanks to faster clocking, the benchmarks suggest the Note 2 could outstrip the S3’s performance.

Samsung’s also announced a US event on August 15. Could it be that we’ll see the Note ahead of its expected IFA showing? Watch this space.
