As it is, our first taste of Blu-ray hit the UK yesterday in the shape of Samsung’s BD-P1000 player and, at £1000, it makes the PS3 look like the big bag of value we always told you it was.Cry hi-def and let slip the dogs of warStill, the jury’s out on whether HD-DVD or Blu-ray will win the day, since the battle is only just beginning. It’s unlikely that either format will enjoy the monumental lack of success that DVD-Audio and SACD managed but there’s still likely to be a loser.Still, you’re a Stuff reader, so you’ll no doubt jump in feet-first and enjoy one of the formats until its untimely obsolescence, whereupon you’ll just nip out and bag another player for £500.
