It's dilemma time: iPhone or Samsung F700? Vodafone's just announced it’s signed up the Apple baiter, which, unlike its US competitor, does have high-speed 3G data. And a proper keyboard, an auto focus camera and a memory card slot, we might add. Granted there's no flash memory on-board but a 4GB MicroSD (around £25 from your friendly local e-tailor) should start to make up for that.Samsung's also got its own new touchscreen interface, dubbed 'Croix' which looked splendid when we saw it from behind a Perspex screen at 3GSM but that's as close as we were allowed to get. There's been a few sneaky spec changes since then – the 5MP camera has become 3MP and the HSDPA top-speed has been sliced from 7.2Mbps to 3.6Mbps – but that still beats the 2MP iPhone with its measly EDGE data, gasping for air at a frankly poor 0.4Mbps top speed. If Tuesday's Apple announcement is what we think it is, we could see these two giants fighting out within mere months. Choose carefully, gadget fans.EssentialsSamsung F700Price: TBAOn sale: TBAContact: SamsungRelated stories:SamsungRelated stories:UK iPhone announcement: 18 September?Live Stuff: 3GSM: Samsung's mobile treatsSamsung stunner is a real iPhone killer
