Qualcomm introduces wireless adapter for Skifta music streaming platform

The chip giant wants you to ditch the wires and free your media collection

Qualcomm has announced a development kit for its nifty Skifta media streaming platform, which will result in wireless adaptors that can be fitted onto your existing audio devices for some home media streaming goodness.

Qualcomm's DLNA-based Skifta software already serves up hassle-free media streaming between your gadgets and gizmos using a secured Wi-Fi connection, and Android owners can get the free Skifta app from here to take it for a spin.

Here's to a wire-free future where all our favourite films and tunes will be saturating the air, ready to be gobbled up by all our shiny slabs of tech...
