Wayne Hemingway must have been canoodling with another manufacturer when it came to designing the sequel to his original Bug – the new model is virtually identical in looks and features.

The Bug Too sports a new titanium finish and ergonomic button layout, but is really an update to the series rather than a sequel.

Its design was always a real Marmite opinion-splitter, but we took comfort in the wealth of features beneath a façade that we’d politely term ‘unconventional’.

There’s a ReVu option to pause and rewind live radio in Sky+ fashion, an EPG to help you find particular shows and an SD card slot for recording DAB or playing your own MP3s.

We can think of better mugs to wake up to than its oval face, but it does also promise to wake you up with your choice of radio station or MP3, and has the usual sleep and timer functions.

The Bug Too will be available later this month from Pure’s site for a round £100.
