Pure has clearly been getting letters from the upper classes about the common pine look of its Evokes – it’s just released a new range of ‘Prestige Edition’ range with luxurious finishes.

The re-styled Evoke-1XT models come in three flavours – from the left there's Bird’s Eye Maple (not inspired by fish fingers), Burnt Redwood (the colour of a singed ex-cabinet minister) and Piano Black (to put on your Steinway Grand).

Aside from their new finishes, the radios are the same models that won our sister mag What Hi Fi? Sound & Vision’s award for ‘best portable radio’ last year.

Alongside crystal-clear DAB output, they have an FM receiver with RDS song info, a lovely white-on-blue display, and a radio alarm.

The new Evoke-1XT Prestiges will cost £120 and should be available from Pure’s site from June.
