There are a species of human – runnus excessivus we like to call them – who simply have to keep going for runs, even when they’re on holiday. Puma knows this all too well, and is now encouraging them with this new all-in-one jogging kit.
The Train Away kit principally consists of the gear you can see above – a jacket, shirt, shorts and ‘sneakers’, whatever they are – which all fits snugly into a little travel pack.
The kit is fairly standard stuff apart from the trainers, which contain a slot in the heel for your holiday key if, you know, you’re allergic to pockets. Bizarrely, the gear will stop going on sale in mid-September, so you’ll have to snap one up quick.
That’s no disaster as its city guides, which you can get via a voucher with the kit or separately, are far more interesting. Thanks to a deal with SoundWalk, they of the downloadable walking guides, Puma’s site will be offering running aides for Berlin, New York, London and Paris.
These will consist not only of a hard copy of a suggested route, but an MP3 that you can download to your audio player. London’s Hyde Park guide, for example, will see you talked through one of our capital’s best green spots by Katy Hill of Blue Peter fame, before being lambasted on your appalling running by Linford Christie. Remember, what doesn’t kill you, only makes your muscles that much more painful the day after.
