The online rumour mill is buzzing with talk of what step Sony is to take next with its pocketable PSP. The company has already poured cold water on any suggestions of a PSP2 in the near future, but what about a little tweaking, DS Lite style?Sony Computer Entertainment UK chief, Ray Maguire, is being reported here in Blighty as telling a press conference that the PSP is merely in its first 'iteration' and that we can expect a shrunk down version to emerge. Thankfully he assures the famously large screen will remain intact. Sony has been swift to play down the rumour, with following reports insisting that he was merely talking about the general long-term forward thinking that all console makers do. Right.Meanwhile, Stateside at the Game Developers Conference, PSP Senior Product Manager, John Koller, is being quoted by US sites as denying any size reduction, but hinting at new colours coming online instead.Want another slant? At the same conference Sony 'reps' are also being quoted by other US sources as saying that there will be no physical alterations to the portable, but there will be changes to the way we use it. Downloadable films perhaps? Better PS3 hook-up? Your guess is as good as ours.
