Sadly for the misty-eyed gamer, the answer may be no, as Sony today announced the fact it would not ship European PS3 with the Emotion engine needed to spin retro discs.In a measure designed to keep down costs, built-in software will replace the old chipset, which means that fewer of the existing PlayStation games will work, compared to 98 per cent on US and Japanese models.
