So you’ve nailed Freebird on Guitar Hero II – congrats. But imagine what you could’ve achieved if you’d spent all that time learning to make a real axe weep instead. We have, but decided it’d be far too much work, so we’ve picked up a Power Tour Guitar instead. The small-person-friendly instrument ditches strings in favour of light-up sensors running the full length of the fretboard. Take your pick from one of the 12 rockin’ songs pre-loaded onto the Power Tour and simply follow the lights to play along. Those classic rock staples Smoke on the Water and Wild Thing are included, as is the loudest song by the loudest band in the world, Motorhead’s Ace of Spades. A roadie has also told us it’ll have an aux input so a wannabe Slash can plug in his own tracks and jam.Modelled on the legendary Gibson SG, it’s smaller than a GH guitar and we wonder whether we’re perhaps too old for it. But right now it seems like the perfect midway point between rocking out on our 360 and shelling out for some proper guitar lessons.Essentials Hasbro Power Tour Guitar Price: £70 On sale: August Contact: Hasbro Related stories: Guitar Hero III – look no wires Air guitar really rocks Rock the laptop
