Remember Polaroid cameras? Those snappy, peely, as-if-by-magic-y moments. Who ever thought that photography could get any more instantaneous?Unfortunately for Polaroid, it did. But rather than languish in the tech doldrums, the company has staged a Rocky Balboa-like comeback, and this time it's punching well above its weight in the LCD TV ring.Available in 32, 37 and 42-inch flavours, the 1080i Definia range packs a number of features you'd expect in higher-priced heavyweights, such as detachable virtual-surround speaker bar, subwoofer out and more connections than you can shake a snap at, including 2x HDMIs, natch. Sweet touches include automatic volume control for those Cillit Bang moments, a CI slot for future pay-per-view digital content and, praise the Lord, an on-off switch. The chaps at Polaroid also insist that this is merely the first step in expanding the empire, so expect much more Polaroid-branded gadgetry in the coming year.
