Our ‘Big in 2009’ January issue included a few sketches of our ideal Polaroid 2.0 compact, and now the company has finally revealed the real thing – the PoGo Instant Digital Camera.
A hybrid of its Zink instant printer and a digital camera, it promises to spit out 2x3in prints within 60 seconds.
The Zink ink and paper means snaps will be instantly dry too, so there’ll be no waggling it in the air and waiting for the sepia tones to fade – though that’s surely the whole fun of owning a Polaroid.
The camera packs a 3in screen, and the paper itself isn’t extortionately priced either – if the prices roughly follow the exchange rate, you’ll be able to pick a 10-pack for £3.30 and a 30-pack for £8.70.
We still prefer our design with 32GB memory and Wi-Fi for uploading to Flickr, but maybe retro nostalgia is sometimes better than cutting edge specs.
