From its proud position atop the Stuff.tv plasma TV top 10, you might think Pioneer's telly boffins would get complacent. Not so, in fact, having conquered Plasma Peak, Pioneer is now setting its sights on LCD Land.

Now in its ninth generation, Pioneer is making some big changes to its range of flatscreens. Gone is the 42in model, leaving 50in and 60in plasmas and sub-50in LCDs instead – a first for Pioneer.

The whole lot come with Full HD res, while the new 32, 37 and 46in LCD screens also pack 100Hz picture processing and special tweaking by the company's extra-sharp-eyed engineers to optimise black levels and maintain that stonking image quality we've come to expect.

Meanwhile, the new G9 plasmas continue to smoke the competition with even better black levels and contrast, plus a slimmed-down 94mm thin body.
