Panasonic rolls out another 1080p projector – the PT-AE2000E, replacing its much-loved PT-AE1000E predecessor.Gamers may be drawn by Panny’s recent 720p PT-AX200E but for cinema buffs the PT-AE1000E has long been a 1080p favourite. Panasonic's come up trumps with its replacement, with a thorough overhaul inside and a cheaper price tag slapped on the outside – hurrah! The raw stats are impressive with a contrast ratio of 16,000:1 and brightness of 1,500 lumens – oh and then there's that lush 1920x1080 resolution. The optics have been completely re-arranged to sport an unholy 16 lens elements. Behind it lies Panny's all-new, 7th-generation, Full HD LCD panel. Extra processing power promises finer detail and as ever the colours have become deeper and the blacks that much blacker. It lands later this month. We've got the lights dimmed and the popcorn by the microwave in anticipation.EssentialsPanasonic PT-AE2000E, PT-AX200E Price: £2000, £1100On sale: October, NowContact: PanasonicRelated stories:Game & watch with Panny's PT-AX200 HD projectorPanasonic’s hobbit LCD projectorGadget of the Day – Panasonic PT-AE1000E
