Pac-Man Portal combines two of the best games ever

Russian re-imagining of the arcade classic lets you evade ghosts using a portal gun

Picture the scene: you’re playing Pac-Man, munching your way through a whole heap of dots when all of a sudden your arch enemies Blinky and Pinky have you cornered. There’s no power pill within reach. They close in. What do you do?

Well, if you’re playing new Russian indie game Pac-Man Portal, you fire your portal gun into a nearby wall and – provided you’ve painted the exit portal somewhere else on the level – duck through and avoid a tragic demise.

It’s pretty much that simple, this mash-up of two classic video games released about 30 years apart. There are some cosmetic differences, and some Russian text to contend with, with the general design is Pac-Man with added portals. Enemies can follow you through portals, of course, so they’re not going to give you total immunity – eventually you will die.

You can download Pac-Man Portal for free here (PC only, we’re afraid). Let us know what you make of it in the comments below.
