After launching a mysterious teaser site and then single–handedly failing to keep the top–secret news under wraps, mobile network 3 has just made their so–called Facebook phone official. Dubbed the INQ1, it comes packing full support for Facebook, Windows Live Messenger, Last.fm and Skype.
Its big selling point is its interactive address book, with live updates from all your buddies on Facebook, instant messages from Windows and VoIP pals on Skype. That means online status and newly added pictures will be shown directly against your contacts. So you can see your best mate rocking a fake tache or find out who's just got dumped at the push of a button.
Updates will be pushed to the front screen so you can see exactly what's going on just by whipping the cell out of your pocket. There's also free Skype–to–Skype calls, just as you get on the 3 Skype phone.
Round the back there's a 3.2MP camera, letting you upload pics of your buddies straight onto Facebook for all your mates to have a squizz at. On top of all that, you can use the blower as a USB modem, so you can get online proper if the mood takes.
The prices though, are the real clincher. It's available for £79.99 on PAYG, coming free on £15 and £20 monthly deals. That includes unlimited access to Facebook, Skype and Windows Live. That's what we call a bargain. You can unlimited web for an extra fiver.
We're getting some hands–on time right now, so while you wait check out our review of the 3 Skype phone.
