Shots of the Nokia Tube – the company's iPhone baiter have surfaced before. And now it seems we’re getting a few more deets on what exactly we can expect when Finland squares up to Cupertino later this year.
The Nokia Tube was shown off at the laugh–a–minute Evans Data Developer Relations Conference in Redwood City, California.
The slick new high–end device will have an Apple–alike touchscreen and the ability to slap photos straight onto the net. OK, not so revolutionary, but from the little we’ve seen, it does look like it’ll give the iPhone a run for its money.
Word is that the Nokia Tube will support Java, something Apple's none too keen to get on the iPhone. Chances are it'll also be 3G, with GPS too.
Emphasising his company’s plans to give Jobs and co a serious smackdown, Tom Libretto, vice–president of Forum Nokia said they’d sold more devices “since we’ve had dinner on Friday” than Apple have since the turn of the year. Sure Tom, but do your phones look and cost as much as Apple’s effort?
What do you think? Is this enough to destroy Apple’s growing dominance? Let us know in the comments section.
