This time last year, Blu-ray was the toast of the town at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. This year the blue movie moguls have gone limp on the format in favour of HD DVD.Word is that Sony's attempting to keep its hi-def discs smut-free by leaning on Blu-ray supporters to reject approaches from porn houses. So lost to BD owners will be Teen America, Island Fever (3 and 4) and the big budget top shelf epic, Pirates (imagine Johnny Depp with fewer clothes and more buxom wenches and you’ll get the idea). Instead all four will get their imminent release on rival HD DVD.If the trend continues it could be bad news for Sony. Porn's preference for VHS was one of the reasons Betamax failed to arouse much interest in the last great video war.
