Japanese business newspaper Nikkei Shimbum is reporting Nintendo has a larger-screened version up its sleeve, featuring 4-inch screens.
If true, it would beat the screen sizes on the current DSi model and the PSPgo, measuring up at 3.25-inches and 3.8-inches respectively.
The PSP-3000 would remain top of the handheld screens, boasting 4.3 inches for your gaming pleasure.
However, the newspaper is claiming the screen boost is not an attempt to push the new DS closer to the PSP-3000, but rather the iPhone.
The news comes almost a year after the DSi was released in Japan, and is expected to be priced at the same pricepoint – sitting alongside the current DSi rather than replacing it.
Whether there is any truth in the rumours, and whether we’ll see it launched over here is yet to be seen, but the Nikkei Shimbum certainly has a good reputation in past rumour leaks.
