Nike's experimented with Nike+ bracelets before but this design looks like an entirely new twist - a Nike+ receiver that doesn't require an iPod Nano.
By giving it its own screen and receiver, Nike's done away with the need for a Nano to track our runs and keep us informed on progress. It all looks like a new take on that Speed+ watch that never seemed to see the light of day.
Just one snag - the band doesn't appear to have an MP3 player, which means no power song to get us up the hill/past the chippy/away from the pub. We sense a looming downturn in our performance.
Nike itself won't confirm any release details but retailers are saying they're expecting it in-store by early next month for €60, or around £45. That's nicely timed for the London Marathon - if not for all that training we were meant to have been doing.
