Next week is Internet Week Europe. Never mind imponderable questions such as why Europe needs an offline festival to celebrate its online successes. Instead concentrate on the benefits, like free Wi-Fi from Skype.
From November 8-12, anyone in the UK can exploit free internet access by signing in to Skype in range of a public Wi-Fi network. Not all hotspots will be covered (including those at hotels) and you’ll probably need the most recent version of Skype.
But don’t look a gift hotspot in the ethernet port – celebrate Internet Week Europe by getting your wireless card around some free data. First person to download the whole internet wins.
