With the excuse to scoff yourself silly gone for another year, it's time to undo all that damage done to your body over the Christmas period. It's one of those traditional resolutions but thankfully there's loads of great tech to help us along the way. Here's what we'll be using in 2009.

Xdream training bike, £5,999

This mountain biking simulator has handlebars that move like a real bike to target the upper and lower body. The ‘real feel’ gears and active resistance combine with the 400 workouts and 20 trails on the interactive LCD screen. You can even race virtually.

Escape Fitness Reaction Trainer, £7,700

A foam pad lights up and plays a sound until you kick or punch it and the next pad activates. You score points depending on how fast you strike and you can plug in your iPod so that your favourite fighting song comes out of the target speaker.

Suunto T6C and GPS Pod, £TBC

This light-weight wrist-top training computer monitors your heart rate and logs your training sessions with time and distance data using the GPS Pod. It also gives a real time Training Effect reading, allowing you to adjust your workout intensity on the fly.

Asics Gel-Kinsei 2, £TBC

This running shoe boasts more injury-beating, performance-enhancing technology than any other trainer. Asics’s Impact Guidance System keeps your footstrike under control, and its Propulsion Trussic assists your ligaments in powering the foot forwards while the asymmetrical lacing hugs the foot.
