The Wii and the DS, two Nintendo consoles sitting in a tree… Well, in your room. Possibly your living room. Regardless, they’re so in love, you may find one with a wedding ring on and the other with a big grin on its face if you leave them alone long enough.

So it’s no surprise the two are now sharing content in Japan. Our Far East planet-pals have a new Wii channel to play with. It allows them to download DS demos directly to their DS.

This isn’t the first time the DS and Wii have shared wireless love. Pokémon Revolution did just that, but it didn’t exactly raise the roof. In fact, Wii/DS link ups are worryingly scarce over here.

Nintendo Europe has told the gaming press there are currently no plans to roll the DS channel out in the UK. But if the roll-out of the other channels are anything to go by, we should be lathered in Wii-to-DS-download goodness before long.

Fingers crossed for N64 GoldenEye? No? Too much? Probably.
