Each one rocks a 2in QVGA screen, with support for MP3, AAC, WMA and Linear PCM files. There will be 2GB, 4GB or 8GB editions, every one working with either iTunes or Windows Media Player, just like previous Walkmans unveiled this time last year. A variety of colours will be available, except for the E438, which only comes in black.

The chaps at Sony Insider are saying there's no word on price or a release date, but we'll be kicking it with the Big S out in Germany, so keep your eyes on for any news as soon as we get it.

And if none of these new goodies tickle your gadget fancy, then maybe the iRiver Spinn or Creative Zen X-Fi will. And then there's always Apple's plans for a new iPod Touch to consider.
