New MacBook Pro specs leaked?

A photo posted to a Chinese forum suggests we’ll see minor spec improvements, not a major design overhaul

We’d been hoping that the new MacBook Pro models would be almost as skinny as the MacBook Air while sporting a Retina Display screen – but a “leaked shot” posted on a Chinese forum says otherwise.

Now obviously this could be fake, so take it all with a pinch of salt, but the specs for the upcoming 13.3-inch MacBook Pro don’t appear to suggest any huge changes on the design front: the screen resolution remains 1280 x 800 and there’s a hard drive as standard (we’d expect an SSD if the Pro was super-skinny). Still, there are some notable improvements in the form of USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 4.0.

Thinking about it, making the MacBook Pro too much like the Air could lead to the latter’s sales dropping, so perhaps Apple wants to keep the lines very separate. Or this picture could just be a hoax. We’ll find out fairly soon – possibly even next week at WWDC 2012. Stay tuned.
