Fed up with those earbuds that came with your third generation "talking" iPod Shuffle? Klipsch might have the answer.

The Klipsch Image S4i headphones have the chip the allows headphones to play nice with the new iPod Shuffle and will also work with your iPhone 3GS, second generation iPod Touch, fourth generation iPod nano and iPod Classic 120GB.

That's good news for people who've been stuck with the earbuds that come with the third generation iPod Shuffle. The remote built-in to the Image S4i headphones will activate the VoiceOver feature allowing you to hear the name of the playlist, song or artist. On your iPhone or other iPods, it'll act as a microphone and allow you to start, stop and skip through tracks.

Klipsch has also positioned the mic and controls in a rather unconventional place – at the point where the the headphone cables meet. That means the remote rests at chest level, a more convenient position for answering calls and skipping through tracks. The mic also features echo cancellation which promises to reduce the chances of external noise ruining your call.

Klipsch rather grandly claims the Image S4i bus will "re-define the music listening experience", we're not sure about that but we're know they'll sound a lot better than the ones from the box. They'll be available from August at Apple Stores, Amazon and from Klipsch directly, priced £89.99.
