We weren’t overly keen on being abducted, but now we’re just going to hang out in the woods and wait for the beam of light – Alienware has just released this fantastic new family of gaming chassis.

The new high-end tower is, as you can see, a fearsome sight, and there are plenty of innovative new touches. Front air intakes suck in air like a sports car and promise more effective cooling, there are new illuminated front and side badges, and you can customise the AlienFX lighting.

Not all the touches are purely cosmetic – the Firewire, USB 2.0 and audio ports are all now handily located on the front, and there’s more room inside to let you expand the system beyond its spec.

This basic spec is, of course, no disgrace. The new chassis will front its Area-51 7500, Aurora 7500 and flagship Aurora ALX systems, which means a stonking, glitch-free performance for demanding new PC titles like Hitman: Blood Money.

The biggest development is the option of adding an even more powerful processor than the usual Core Duo – now you can get Intel’s most powerful desktop processor ever: the Core 2 Extreme.

Graphics are in the capable hands of nVidia’s SLI tech, and you can boost the rest of the spec to include a 500GB hard-drive, 4GB RAM and a 16x dual layer DVD drive. We suggest that you go configure with haste.
