Autofocus is all well and good but if most of your holiday snaps come out with the background pin-sharp and the foreground a sea of blurry faces, you'll be wanting to take a butcher's at this. 'Looks like a Finepix F30,' you say. That's because it is, but it now has one added ingredient: Face Detection (that'll be what the 'fd' stands for, then). We've already seen it work on the S6500fd launched earlier this year. By looking out for mug-like features (two eyes, a nose, that sort of thing) it can point the autofocus at the important bit of the picture rather than trying to get a fix on the trees in the background. Fujufilm reckons it's the fastest face-seeking system in the world and can handle groups of up to 10 people (especially useful at keeping everyone in focus in a group photo).Elsewhere it has 6.3megapixels, 3x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch TFT display and a super high 3200 maximum ISO for low-light photography without flash.
