The Far East produces two things, lots of shiny gadgets and rumours. The latest product of the talk factory is a new mobile from PC-kings Dell.

TechCrunch claims to have received the info from a Asian tipster who says the Dell phone will emerge in the next two weeks. It'll launch in China first.

Nobody really knows what the Dell phone will look like but TechCrunch's person-in-the-know has some hints. The handset will feature a large touchscreen and no physical keyboard – boy that sounds familiar. *cough* iPhone *cough*

The Dell phone software remains equally mysterious with talk of the Android OS competing with tales of a proprietary system designed in China. Let's hope the rumours of the Dell Android device are true.

Do you think Dell's phone can match the iPhone 3GS's touchscreen supremacy?
