A bit of a coup for O2 sees Need for Speed Carbon hitting O2-networked mobiles before it arrives on console or PC. The game is the expected mix of high-speed hi-jinx, high-octane hi-jinx and high-energy hi-jinx on city streets and treacherous mountain roads, and will appear on O2 Active as of this weekend. Players can pitch themselves against set gaming goals or play with friends by selecting, fairly obviously, the ‘multiplayer’ option. And, as part of O2’s Long Weekend programme, on any Monday in December – reckon on around four of them to be on the safe side – O2 users can download their choice of game from four possible titles: Need for Speed Carbon, The Sims 2, Tetris and FIFA 06 completely gratis. Free isn’t a word that’s used enough in our opinion, so a free game is not to be sniffed at. Bravo, O2, we’ll be taking you to the cleaners via the O2 phones you gave us so very soon!
