If you’ve got a NavPix-equipped sat-nav, haven’t done any of your Christmas shopping and don’t mind falling for publicity stunts, Navman’s got a little something for you – a GPS-guided tour of ten London gift shops. The company’s sat-nav-by-photos tech works by attaching pictures to the correct GPS co-ordinates, turning them into ‘NavPix’. You can find libraries of them online, and its ‘Guide to Christmas shopping’ is the latest addition. To be fair, Navman’s list doesn’t just send you down Oxford Street via Harrods. There are ten obscure stores in its album, including the Soi5 sweet store in Islington and Stoke Newington’s Route 73 Kids (above), which all come with full descriptions when you download them. All NavPix devices, such as the iCN750, are compatible with TMC traffic alerts, so the guide won’t plunge you into a bumper-to-bumper jam, and the newer N40i and N60i models let you create your own NavPix destinations thanks to an onboard camera.Go to the link below to download your NavPix or, if you’re still a sat-nav sceptic, write all the stores down and whip out your A-Z instead.
