Navicore’s brightened our directionless day with Navicore Personal 2006/1, which packs bundles of extra features for the same price as its ye olde version.

With the new-even-bouncier software you can get the latest UK maps from Tele Atlas along with free traffic info updates and safety camera downloads via GPRS. It’s not just for the car either – there are modes for drivers, cyclists and dear old pedestrians too.

What’s extra cool about Navicore’s latest is its mobile-centric features – you can navigate to your mates from addresses stored in your phone’s PIM and, with location messaging, text maps and details of where you are to them so they can track you down.

The package comes with a 256 MB memory card containing the main application plus a Bluetooth GPS receiver featuring the latest SiRF III GPS chip which gives an uber accurate signal even it those troublesome built-up areas.

Navicore Personal 2006/1 is available on Symbian Series 60 handsets for £200. For a complete list of handsets supported check out Navicore's site here.

Luckily you don’t need a GPS to find somewhere to buy the bundle either – it’s available at The Link, 02 stores and The Carphone Warehouse, and online at Tesco, Mobile Fun and satnav2u. Existing owners can also upgrade at Navicore's online shop.
