Moto’s SLVR goes Red for charity

What have you done today to make Heather Small feel proud? Selfishly nursing a weekend hangover won’t impress her one bit – no, you need to show some benevolence with this special edition Moto SLVR.

It’s one of the first products to appear in the Bono-led Product Red line, which is raising awareness and a healthy amount of cash for the Global Fund for fighting AIDS in Africa.

The SLVR is a particularly good Red product because it raises money in two ways. Firstly, Motorola and Carphone Warehouse – the phone’s on its site now – will donate £10 to the fund for every phone sold.

Then, once you start using it, 5% of every bill – on contract or PAYG – will be contributed, letting you rack up charity donations with your big mouth.

There’s also the small consolation that you’ll be getting one of the funkiest phones we’ve clapped eyes on, with all its Bluetooth and VGA camera bonuses.

You’ll need to be quick on the draw, though – there are only limited stocks of the phone, which is free on contract with Orange or £150 on PAYG with Virgin.

If you want more Product Red action go to its site here, where there’s info on the rest of the range including Armani sunglasses, Gap clothes and Converse shoes.
