Morgan's 90mph green machine

Most environmentally friendly cars have all the allure of a stick of celery, with the acceleration of a milk-float. One look at the Morgan Lifecar tel

The aluminium clad, hydrogen-powered motor can manage 0-60 in a respectable seven seconds and hit 90 miles an hour without the aid of a hill or a tailwind.

As well as the lightweight body it gets suitably retro wooden-framed seats - all part of making up for the hefty hydrogen cells that give the car a 200-plus mile range on a single serving of the big H.

It'll be on display at the Geneva Motor Show this week but for now it's only a one-off concept. Morgan is taking this eco-car stuff seriously, though, so don't be surprised if we see a production version before long.
