We’ve seen portable projectors from Samsung and Panasonic before, but this is just ridiculous; Explay has just revealed details of a matchbox-sized model that can plug into your phone.
It’s still in the testing stage at the moment – results have apparently been successful – but Explay is planning to use the nano-projector engine in a range of accessories for portable devices, including camcorders and PVRS, in the first half of 2007.
This is great news for anyone who’s tired of squinting into the tiny displays of portable video gizmos as the projector will be able to show your videos in much more eye-friendly sizes between 7in to 35in.
As impossibly small as Explay’s model is, the shrinking isn’t likely to stop there; we’ve also seen a model from Digismart which is, according to our spy, ‘no bigger than a 12-year-old’s thumb’ and will be projecting UMDs from PSPs by Christmas.
