Medion has pulled the cover off the latest addition to its notebook family that will be available exclusively at Aldi supermarkets.

Touted as a portable entertainment suite, the Akoya P6618 boasts a Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2GHz processor, 4GB DDR2 RAM and a spacious 500GB hard drive.

The 16-inch HD widescreen display allows for happy movie watching, but it's disappointingly sans Blu-ray, so you'll have to stick to your regular DVDs we're afraid. It does have an HDMI audio and video output though, meaning you can link it up to your HD TV for bigger screen fun. .

As for other connections, you'll get an eSATA port for any external HDDs you may have, a 4-in-1 card reader, three USB ports and a LAN port for cabled networking. There's also a webcam for all your Skypeing needs.

The Akoya T6600 comes packing a price tag of £599.99 and will hit the shelves in Aldi stores from 30 April.
