MacBook Pro update goes on sale

Be the first to get your hands on the upgraded 2011 MacBook Pro

We've been expecting a MacBook Pro update for a few weeks now and here it is – but there's no redesigned, MacBook Air style visual refresh for Apple's MacBook Pro range. As with the iPhone 4S, Apple is sticking to its guns in the design department, instead offering faster processors and more storage for the same price as current models.

The lineup refresh has just dropped on the Apple Store. The 13in MacBook Pro now comes with the choice of a 2.4 or 2.8Ghz dual-core processor (up from 2.3 and 2.7Ghz) with 4GB of RAM and either 500 or 750GB of storage.

The 15-inchers are available with a 2.2Ghz processor and 500GB hard drive or a 2.4Ghz processor and 750GB hard drive – the latter being the same for the 17in MacBook Pro. Now, you just need to weigh up the prices – which start at £1000 and go all the way up to £2100.
