Apple’s Mac Mini has been given a twin recorder from Miglia and, judging by the picture above, the two seem to be getting on rather well.

The TVMax combines an analogue TV tuner – which means no Freeview channels like its TVMini, sadly – and Elgato EyeTV 2’s considerable recording prowess in a unit that nestles snugly under your little Mac.

This means you can do all the usual timeshifting of live TV, as well as schedule recordings and check out online TV guides.

It records in MPEG-2, MP4 and DivX, and is a handy way to get content on your iPod Video thanks to its export function.

There’s also the option of ripping your VHS tapes and burning them onto DVD, and it comes bundled with a remote.

The TVMax is available now for £170 – check out Miglia’s site for info on how to bag one.
