It seems LG could are planning a tablet-cum-e-reader device of their own, with an aim to hit the market around the same time as the iPad.
LG's head of Middle East and Africa Operations KW Kim spoke out about the soon-to-launch product that he said would "compete with Apple and Amazon".
He also said it would be on shelves "maybe by April" – if this is the case for the UK, it would mean it would probably land in between the Wifi-only and 3G versions of the iPad.
Unfortunately that's all he muttered on the subject, but it's not too much of a surprise. LG has been trickling out a few bits of e-reader tech recently such as a solar-powered system and flexible e-paper displays, so it'll be interesting to see what its finished product turns up looking like.
Will we see anything at MWC about this? We'll be on hand to ask LG all about it, and will be bringing you back all the news as it happens.
