LG Optimus 3D Max won't be released in UK

It looks like the Nintendo 3DS will be the only glasses-free 3D gizmo to grace British pockets, for now at least

It looks like the LG Optimus 3D Max might be joining our esteemed list of great smartphones you're not going to buy. LG has just announced that the handset won't hit UK shores, despite its European launch which kicked off today.

The LG Optimus 3D Max boasts a 4.3in screen and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, though the real story is of course its glasses-free 3D display and its two rear cameras which can be used for 3D snaps and video.

There's no word on whether or not LG plans to bestow its pocketable 3D smartphone on British stores at any point in the future, but we can still expect to see the quad-core LG Optimus 4X HD in the UK – a more than acceptable consolation for those looking for a device with less gimmick and more grunt.
