LG Optimus 3D Cube unveiled

The sequel to the world’s first glasses free mobile is slimmer, faster and sports 3D editing software

UPDATE: The LG Optimus 3D Max – as it will be called in Europe – will be coming to the UK later in the year.

Prepare your eyes for dazzling glasses free 3D, again. The Optimus 3D has a sequel in the LG Optimus 3D Cube coming to Korea in March. Sadly there was no UK release date menitoned meaning we'll have to wait longer.

The latest handheld in LG’s glasses-free 3D army has been on a diet to achieve a thinner 9.6mm thin form. But it’s still crammed in more speed with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. And a mobile 3D first brings editing software for your 3D videos and pictures which you can edit on the Cube's 4.3in screen.

Just as we reported previously the LG Optimus 3D Cube will feature NFC for using LG Tag+ sticks for swipe-to-change settings. Although we can’t see ourselves lugging tags about just to change settings a few second quicker.

The downside is that there was no mention of the 326ppi screen we previously reported. And sadly it’ll be running the positively outdated Android 2.3 Gingerbread with no word on an Ice Cream Sandwich update. Of course worse than any of that is the fact Korea will be getting it this March with no word of a UK release at all. We’ll get hands-on time at MWC 2012 to let you know if missing out – for now – is worth getting upset about.
