LG eyes Asus Eee crown

LG doesn't make many laptops, but when it does they tend to be serious objets du désir, à la the LG Z1 and Xnote P300.

Now it's turning its attentions to the mighty Asus Eee PC in what's likely to be a massive design-off royal rumble.

Reports from Germany are that the forthcoming UMPC, known as the X110, will be aiming straight for the Eee PC 901, with a 9in screen, Intel Atom chip, 120GB storage and 2GB of memory.

Word is it'll cost the equivalent of a tasty €399 (£315) in Germany, or €499 (£395) with built-in HSDPA. That would make it a touch cheaper than the Eee but factor in the usual UK price hike and it'll probably come in around the same. Boo!
