London 2012 may be just five short years away but apparently there's another sporting shindig happening in Beijing just twelve months from now that also warrants our widescreen HDTV attention.Even more so when we learn that veritable ThinkPad maker Lenovo has designed the games' Olympic torch (pictured left) and brought out a matching laptop to go with it (right).Dubbed the Xiang, after Chinese 110m hurdles gold medallist Liu Xiang, it features the same 'Cloud of Promise' design as the polished aluminium-magnesium alloy flame holder. We've not been told much about the spec, aside from it'll have a 12.1in XGA display and likely a Core 2 Duo processor. We'll have more as we get nearer to 2008. Meanwhile you can catch the Lenovo torch in the UK and 19 other countries when it sets off from Athens in March next year, before sparking up the Olympic flame at the National Stadium, aka The Bird's Nest, on 8th August.
